In April 2018, just weeks after the film hit theaters, Paramount chairman and CEO Jim Gianopulos revealed that an A Quiet Place sequel is in the works. Now, in an interview with Deadline, Krasinski confirmed he’s working on the script. It’s all happening, folks. If you haven’t seen A Quiet Place, read at your own risk, because there are spoilers ahead.

We already have a lot of questions about the A Quiet Place sequel. Will it pick up right where the first movie left off? Are we going to meet new characters? How did Evelyn’s foot heal after stepping on that nail? Now that Krasinski is officially working on the script, hopefully we’ll start to get some answers. Because more than anything, we’re dying to know if Emily Blunt is returning for the second movie.

Near the end of A Quiet Place, Krasinski’s character, Lee, dies. He sacrifices himself to save his children, Regan and Marcus, by screaming—an act that causes the monsters to stop hunting them and snatch him up instead. So the likelihood of Krasinski showing up in front of the camera again is pretty slim (except maybe in flashbacks). But Blunt’s character, Evelyn, survives. Will she return for the A Quiet Place sequel? We don’t know anything for sure. But based on Krasinski’s working idea, it sounds like the second installment could center around a completely different cast of characters.

We’ll leave you to it, John. You knocked it out of the park with the first movie, so we trust your vision for the second. Even if it doesn’t include Emily.
