Orange is the New Black is dark at times, but it still has its humor, and the characters are all just so human in their own way. Even if we live totally different lives from each of them, they’re all SO relatable. You don’t have to live in a prison with all your dearest friends (and frenemies) to find yourself relating to the women of Litchfield, because the acting is so good and the nuances of their emotions are portrayed on such a basic, human level.

In honor of the upcoming season of Orange is the New Black (coming to Netflix on Friday, June 17), here’s a round-up of some of our favorite moments from the show — and how deeply they relate to our real lives.

When reading can’t compare to real life.
