The top 10 All That sketches that made you LOL in the '90s, for your viewing pleasure
Back before ’90s kids were old enough to watch SNL, we had All That. The sketch comedy show was on air for most of our childhood—1994 to 2005—and it brought us comedic talents like Gabriel Iglesias, Kenan Thompson, Kel Mitchell, and Amanda Bynes. In February, when we heard that original cast member Kenan Thompson was bringing an All That revival to the small screen, we couldn’t wait to watch. Now, we even know who will be starring in the All That reboot.
Deadline reported yesterday, May 29th, that the show’s revival cast seven young actors between the ages of 12 and 15 to appear on the upcoming show. These future All That stars are Ryan Alessi, Reece Caddell, Kate Godfrey, Gabrielle Green, Nathan Janak, Lex Lumpkin, and Chinguun Sergelen. In addition to the newcomers, original cast members Mitchell, Lori Beth Denberg, and Josh Server will reprise some of their most iconic characters—meaning there will be plenty for older fans to look forward to.
This news has us feeling nostalgic, so let’s take a trip down memory lane and remember some of the best All That sketches.
Bynes and Christy Knowings made these ditzy teen talk show hosts like, totally awesome. Or whateverrr.
2 “Good Burger”
No All That compilation would be complete without this iconic sketch. Mitchell’s Ed remains one of the most memorable characters from the show, and he and Thompson even went on to star in a Good Burger movie together.
3 “Ask Ashley”
As a kid, it was both hilarious and liberating to watch Bynes’ innocent-looking Ashley unleash a rage-filled tirade on letter-writers. Just turn the stinkin’ sandwich over, Tracy! Jeez.
4 “Coach Kreeton”
Coach Kreeton may have worked with children, but they always made his life miserable. Mitchell’s iconic Coach Kreeton scream was definitely the best part of these bits.
5 “The Haunted Hand”
Denberg is doing the most as Miss Fingerly, and Server’s wayward hand makes for some quality slapstick comedy.
6 “Sugar & Coffee”
The wackiest fake talk show on TV featured hosts Buzz (Kyle Sullivan) and Kaffy (Lisa Foiles), who were so hyper that they could never finish an interview. Mini trampolines and giant funnels full of sugar and coffee were the best parts of this recurring bit.
7 “Everyday French with Pierre Escargot”
Is there anything better than Thompson reading ridiculous French phrases in a bathtub? Hon hon hon, we think not.
8 “Pizza Face and Ear Boy”
Poor Pizza Face (Mitchell) and Ear Boy (Server) just couldn’t catch a break.
9 “Mavis & Clavis”
Kenan and Kel were one of the best comedy duos to come out of All That, and these sketches really showcased their abilities. We still don’t know how old Mavis and Clavis were, but we do remember their 100th high school reunion.
10 “The Loud Librarian”
Denberg got to shine as the ironically-named Mrs. Hushbaum in this classic sketch.
We can’t wait to see what the new All That has in store. What was your favorite sketch?
