Respectful Memes is the hilarious Twitter account everyone should be following
Memes are interesting things. While sometimes they can be a little cruel, other times they’re pretty hilarious (case in point, the Biden and Obama memes that are currently making the rounds.) A new Twitter account called Respectful Memes is making the heavily circulated photos you know and love more hilarious by putting a new spin on things — a kind spin, if you will.
While the account was activated in April of this year, the user only started populating the account pretty recently — and it’s already getting a lot of attention. We were clued into it based on a few wonderful RTs from Chrissy Teigen, who also probably finds the account to be refreshingly humorous.
Here are a few examples of what to expect:

See? That could have gone a bunch of ways, but its innocence is what makes it truly shine.
Of course, you’ve probably also seen this photo from Arthur circulating around social media a bit.

And, once again, Kermit has gone viral (this time, without his cup of tea.)

Don’t we kind of wish we could have been in college relationships like this?
Bae: Come Over
Me: I can't, I'm studying for my finals
Bae: okay, good luck. Do your best 🙂

So respectful.
At the time of publication, the account just had 13 tweets and 3,402 followers — but we know that’ll grow soon, since the creator has a truly unique sense of humor. (In fact, it grew by the time that sentence was typed. They’re now at 3,414. Kind of amazing.) Since memes aren’t going to die out anytime soon, there’ll always be fresh material, so we won’t have to worry about that.
This holiday season, we’re incredibly thankful that Respectful Memes entered our lives.
