Reese’s mini peanut butter cups are the most popular Easter candy this year, and we get it

Move over Peeps, there’s a new Easter candy king in town. According to a RetailMeNot survey, Reese’s Mini Peanut Butter Chocolate Eggs are what people want to find in their Easter baskets. The tiny, peanut butter-filled treats beat out Peeps by nearly 20 percent.

How could an Easter classic be dethroned?

The survey put the marshmallow treats barely in the top five. Instead, people really love the chocolate and peanut butter combination. There is nothing like sweet, rich chocolate mixed with salty peanut butter. There are so many forms to enjoy it in, too — cake, cookies, ice cream, and certainly candy. And people love that Reese’s Mini Peanut Butter Chocolate Eggs are bite-sized, so they’re perfect for eating only a couple.

We’ve got the full candy survey results:

  1. Reese’s Mini Peanut Butter Chocolate Eggs (53%)
  2. Chocolate bunnies (48%)
  3. Jelly beans (48%)
  4. Hershey’s Eggs (45%)
  5. Peeps (34%)

Even if they are super delicious, it’s still super surprising that the chocolate eggs were also able to beat chocolate bunnies and jelly beans. These candies have been Easter basket staples since as long as we can remember, but people’s candy cravings change.

So if you’re gathering stuff for baskets, make sure you include some Reese’s Mini Peanut Butter Chocolate Eggs. You’ll be the best Easter Bunny in town!
