Reese Witherspoon is the first guest on Neil Patrick Harris’ new show

Have you heard the good news? Neil Patrick Harris is getting his OWN SHOW. Best Time Ever With Neil Patrick Harris will more than likely live up to its name. The new series is a variety show that will include singing, dancing, stunts, surprises, and surprise guests. NPH has already let one big surprise slip, though: Reese Witherspoon is going to be the first guest on said show.

At the Television Critics Association press tour last week in Beverly Hills, NPH talked up his show, and whoops!, revealed that our girl Reese is going to be the first “celebrity guest announcer.” Seeing as how she’s the first . . .  no, we still don’t exactly know what that means. But it’s probably safe to guess that Witherspoon will do more than just stand behind an announcer’s podium, and banter with NPH. We’d actually still totally tune in even if that were the case.

But more than likely she’ll have a hand in whatever happens on the show. Telling the audience at the TCA event, NPH couldn’t stress enough that everything is live, and the audience has no idea what’s going on. Viewers at home (who have somehow been roped into the show, too) will also have no idea what’s going on.

So does this sound like something we’re most definitely not going to want to miss? YES. NPH continues to refer to it as an “event” rather than a show, and thankfully, we’re all invited. Best Time Ever premieres Tuesday, September 15th. We’re totally confused, and intrigued, and ready to tune in.
