Rebel Wilson Added a Nostalgic Pop of Color to Her Blonde Hair
We're getting all the Barbie vibes—in the best way.
Comedian Rebel Wilson is bringing back the dip-dyed look, and her reimagining of the throwback style looks hot—hot pink, that is. Wilson showed off her new ‘do on Instagram yesterday, January 28th, and we’re getting Barbie-goes-festival-hopping vibes.
The dip-dyed hairstyle peaked in popularity back in the early 2010s when Kylie Jenner stepped out with dark roots with aqua ends. From there, the style blew up with people dipping their ends in a variety of different bright and cheery colors for that Coachella-perfect look. And yes, Kool-Aid was sometimes involved in the at-home dying process—it was quite the phase.
Here, Wilson kept her dip-dyed ‘do, done by hairstylist Cheryl Marks, sleek and straight, and tied up in a high ponytail. It’s unclear if the dye is the real deal or just temporary, but either way she’s pulling it off with ease. The ombré ends look has grown up, and we’re feeling nostalgic.
Wilson rocked her pink hair to a taping of her upcoming reality series Pooch Perfect, which is set to premiere March 30th. Pooch Perfect is originally an Australian show, hosted by Wilson, but was picked up by ABC last year. The competition pits 10 of the best dog groomers in the country against each other to face off in a series of grooming-related challenges.
Each week, one of the groomers and their assistant will be voted off the show until the top three remaining groomers compete for a cash prize in the final showdown.
According to Wilson, the dip-dye is officially back, and TBH, we could absolutely do for a bit of carefree nostalgia right now. Are we about to go back to our old Kool Aid-hair dye experiments? Yes. Yes, we are.
