Here’s one more reason to love Neville Longbottom
They say Gryffindors are known for their brave hearts, but seeing what Neville Longbottom just did they might need to amend that to explain it’s the house where the BIGGEST hearts reside. While Neville might have not been the chosen one, or the best wizard in his year, he was always there for his friends. Now, the actor behind him for all eight movies, Matthew Lewis, is proving he’s just the same. He stepped in to help a bunch of kids have the time of their life, and it’s leaving us with lots of feels.
Lewis recently head about an origination called Dreamflight. What’s Dreamflight? Only something totally awesome. It’s a charity run out of the United Kingdom that takes children with a serious illness or a disability on a 10-day vacation to Orlando, Florida. The group of about 200 kids, parents, and media staff from all over the UK board a chartered, private flight and as Dreamflight explains on their website, “Many children could not undertake such a trip without the support of the army of doctors, nurses, physiotherapists and non-medical volunteers who care for the children 24 hours a day.” With Dreamflight, they’re given the opportunity to just be kids.
The latest Dreamflight left the UK the other, and Lewis stopped by to send them off. He was thrilled to be there, and told The Scotsman “I read about what Dreamflight was and how amazing it was going to be for these kids that I jumped at the chance to be here. It’s been the most amazing day, it’s been a pleasure.”
“All these kids have been looking forward to this for a really long time,” he continued. “It just takes me back to when I was a kid and went over to Orlando and saw some amazing things.”
You can check out a video of the kids arriving at the terminal and seeing Lewis here, and it sounds like everyone is going to have an amazing time on this flight.
