Today in weird news, Rashida Jones was once attacked by Michael Jackson’s pet chimp

It’s easy to forget that due to her famous Dad, she was living the celebrity life well before she was given a part on The Office. In a recent interview, Rashida Jones admitted that Michael Jackson’s chimp attacked her back in the day, which was probably an indicator that she was truly someone special. While suffering from a chimp attack is kind of scary, we’re happy that Jones seemed to be slightly honored by the event. (I mean, it’s not every day that you get to be in the presence of Bubbles.)
Of course, the attack wasn’t anything truly serious. The actress, who recalled the event on Desus & Mero, said that the famous chimp just drew a bit of blood after biting her finger.
"He was wearing a little full…overall jumpsuit and a striped shirt," she said. "To pretend he was a human."
Weirdly enough, Jones still has a tiny scar from the incident.
"He also looked me dead in my eye. While he was biting me, she continued.
“I was trying to punish him because he threw something at me. And I, like, hit him on the head and said, ‘No!’ because I had seen Michael trying to punish him before."
We guess this is a good time to remind everyone not to mess with monkeys — even monkeys who have a bit of training. We’re guessing that Jones was at the Neverland Ranch due to the fact that her father, Quincy, produced a few of Jackson’s most memorable albums.

Looking back, Jones doesn’t think that Bubbles has any regrets over what happened. These days, Bubbles is living a tamer life at The Center For Great Apes, a popular sanctuary in located in Wauchula, Florida. While there’s a myth that Jackson left money for Bubbles in his will, the sanctuary notes that these claims aren’t true.
We’re hoping that the incident hasn’t given Rashida Jones a lifelong fear of chimps. All in all, it seems pretty terrifying!
