Radiohead just released a video for their new song “Present Tense,” and it’s everything

When you’re Radiohead, you make amazing music videos. No doubt about it. But unlike their music videos for “Karma Police” and “No Surprises”, the video they just released for the new single “Present Tense” is a bit more chill. In fact, it’s almost what you’d imagine seeing if you ever invited Thom Yorke and Jonny Greenwood over for a peaceful Sunday morning jam session. (Hey, putting it that way, this video is more or less a dream come true!)

Need a small moment of zen? Take a few deep breaths, close your eyes, and just listen to the music. With simple yet powerful lyrics like “Keep it light and / Keep it moving / I am doing /No harm / As my world / Comes crashing down,” Radiohead proves that they still have it after all these years.
The video was shot in Tarzana, California in early August of this year, and was directed by Paul Thomas Anderson. Yep — the same guy who directed films like Magnolia and Punch-Drunk Love.
The song is featured on their ninth studio album, A Moon Shaped Pool, which was released back in May. The band is just finishing up their tour for the album, with just a few dates remaining.
