Rachel McAdams posed in Versace while pumping breastmilk during a magazine shoot, and this is iconic

You would think that in 2018, breastfeeding would be more accepted than it is, but Chrissy Teigen was mommy shamed for posting a breastfeeding photo this summer and another mom was criticized for breastfeeding at Disneyland last year. It’s exhausting. So many of us are working hard to normalize breastfeeding, but none have looked this badass while doing so: Rachel McAdams covered the new issue of Girls. Girls. Girls. magazine, and in one of the photos she’s breast pumping in a Versace suit and Bulgari jewels, staring down the camera lens like a damn queen.

Claire Rothstein—the magazine’s founder—shared the instantly iconic photo on Instagram and said it was taken between shots because McAdams was six months postpartum and still breastfeeding her son.

"Breastfeeding is the most normal thing in the world, like breathing and I can’t for the life of me imagine why or how it is ever frowned upon or scared of," Rothstein wrote alongside the pic. "I don’t even think it needs explaining but just wanted to put this out there, as if it even changes one person’s perception of something so natural, so normal, so amazing then that’s great. Besides she’s wearing Versace and [Bulgari] diamonds and is just fucking major."

Rothstein also pointed out that it was the actress’s idea to take the breast pumping pic.

McAdams welcomed her son (whose name has not been revealed) in April 2018 with her boyfriend Jamie Linden. The notoriously private actor opened up to People in November, calling motherhood “the greatest thing that’s ever happened to me, hands down.”
