Rachel Bilson will be returning to our TV screens, so let the countdown begin!
When your favorite actor or actress goes on a small hiatus from the small or big screen, it can feel like a millennium waiting for them to return. For those of us who have been faithfully waiting for Rachel Bilson to return to us after her series Hart of Dixie went off the air in 2015, we have some great news for you. According to Variety, Bilson is joining the fifth season of Nashville. We’re playing the air-guitar in celebration.
Bilson will be playing a reoccurring character named Alyssa, who will make her debut in the later half of Season 5. The actress posted a photo on her Instagram of the Highway 65 door and we can only wonder what exactly is she doing there?
We suppose that question can only be answered once the next half of Season 5 airs. So in the meantime, we’ll take the time to rejoice alongside Bilson’s excited and supportive fans.
And Bilson isn’t joining the show solo. Empire’s Kaitlin Doubleday is also hopping on the Season 5 train, according to Variety.
Nashville executive producer and showrunner, Marshall Herskovitz told the publication, "“We welcome Rachel and Kaitlin into our incredibly talented ensemble. We fondly anticipate the second half of the season filled with surprising twists and turns that make ‘Nashville’ so beloved by the fans.
After Connie Britton left the show, Nashville fans are wondering how Bilson and Doubleday will step into the plot. The stakes are high and the drama is boiling up. But after handling all drama The O.C. dealt her, we think she’ll be able to handle it.
The second half of Season 5 does not have a premiere date set, but keep your eyes peeled for any sign of release dates. This is the Bilson comeback we’ve all been waiting for!
