Hayden Christensen and Rachel Bilson named their daughter after a Disney Princess (and we’re in fandom heaven)

Rachel Bilson and Hayden Christensen already represent the sweetest union of our fangirl dreams. Anakin + Summer = true love IRL. But wait, the fandom chain of awesome doesn’t end there. Last year, Christensen and Bilson welcomed a little baby girl named Briar Rose. And it turns out, her amazing name also comes with a huge Disney connection that you might not realize right away.

Christensen recently appeared on Hallmark Channel’s Home & Family, where he discussed the meaning behind his little one’s name. “There’s a Disney reference there, I suppose,” he explained, “The original Sleeping Beauty is called Briar Rose… Rachel especially was very keen on the name, [and] we have Disney songs playing around the house 24/7 right now.”

Well, that’s absolutely adorable. It’s not just a little Disney reference, but a HUGE Disney references, which makes us even happier. In the original story of Sleeping Beauty, written by the Brothers Grimm, the princess is named Briar Rose, and the story is actually called, “Little Briar Rose.” When Disney made the story into their 1959 animated classic, they changed the names around a little bit. The little princess is born Aurora, but when she goes into hiding with the fairies, they rename her “Briar Rose” in an effort to keep her safe from Maleficent.

Today, though, we always think of the Sleeping Beauty princess as Aurora. But she’s Briar Rose, too. And now we’re also going to think of Christensen and Bilson’s daughter as a tiny perfect sleeping princess, too.
