Quvenzhané Wallis celebrates her Golden Globe nom and reminds us just how beautiful it is to be 11
While there were lots of Golden Globe noms to celebrate this week, and other nomination snubs to seriously question, we can all agree on one thing: Quvenzhané Wallis earning a nomination has to be one of the best things ever. The adorable 11-year-old heard about and reacted to the news just like any 11-year-old would — her mom told her, and then she went back to bed.
It wasn’t until hours later that her nomination for Best Actress in a Comedy or Musical — for her work in Annie, where she plays the adorable singing Annie — really sank in. Quvenzhané told Access Hollywood about the nomination, “This is pretty awesome,” which was then followed by, “[screaming!].” We can’t help but be excited for her, too!
She also took to her Twitter account to share the news — and don’t worry, since she’s only 11 the account is run by her parents and manager.
Then, asking the hard hitting questions, Access Hollywood wondered if she had already picked out her outfit for the big night. “Pink sparkles, pink and sparkles. I like sparkles and I like pink,” Quvenzhané said. Is it too much to ask for the return of the puppy purse? I’ve never wanted to be a kid again more than when I saw Quvenzhané rocking a fashion forward puppy purse all over the red carpet last year.
Whatever she ends up sporting, we’ll be rooting for her! Considering this 11-year-old already has an Academy Award nomination, along with a huge handful of other awards and nominations for her work (for a movie made when she was SIX), she is quite a force to be reckoned with. And yes, eyes peeled for that puppy purse.
