Bow down to this royalty: the Queer Eye guys were just *officially* crowned Yass Queens

As if they weren’t already kings of Netflix and makeovers, the Queer Eye guys flew all the way to the Down Under to rule over a new town: Yass. Seriously, the town is called Yass, and YASS.

Earlier this week, as part of promoting the second season of the show, Antoni Porowski, Jonathan Van Ness, Karamo Brown, Bobby Berk, and Tan France took a trip to Yass, Australia, a tiny yet quaint town just a few hundred kilometers south-west of Sydney. The Fab Five initially arrived there to makeover a local pub, but each one departed as honorary royalty, as they were “crowned” by the mayor, making them Yass Queens…OFFICIALLY.

On top of coming to town because of the wordplay (I mean, how could they not?), the guys also met George, a 54-year-old cattle farmer, to give him the ultimate Queer Eye transformation experience. George wasn’t aware that the show existed in the first place, but ended up having the time of his life.

"I feel great. I didn’t really know what to expect because I didn’t know anything about the show," he told The Guardian. "But it was a mind-changing day for me. Especially when we were talking about family, and quality time."

After George’s big reveal, Yass mayor Rowena Abbey surprised them with sparkling tiaras, hereby anointing them as the Yass Queens. “I need to begin with the man who started it all,” she quipped, before crowning Jonathan. “Yasssss!” he replied.

“I feel like I’m in the chronicles of Narnia!” Tan joked. “He’s like, ‘I’ve been waiting for this my whole life!’” Bobby added. The moment was just so perfect, we’re trying hard not to tear up. Dare we say it’s even better than Mia Thermopolis’ coronation in The Princess Diaries.

And that’s not all: a billboard with the Fab Five’s beautiful faces has been planted on the Barton Highway just outside of Yass. false

Queer Eye Season 2 hits Netflix on June 15th. Now say it with me: Yaaaass!
