Queen Elizabeth’s favorite song was just revealed, and it’s perfect
If you don’t already have a royal playlist, you’re one step behind Queen Elizabeth, whose favorite song was just revealed (and it’s the most fitting tune ever). According to NME, this most interesting tidbit about the queen of England comes courtesy of BBC DJ Chris Evans, who recently claimed that his friend witnessed her highness happily getting her groove on to ABBA’s “Dancing Queen” during a private banquet at Windsor Castle.
Admittedly, we’re always fascinated to learn more about QEII’s personal life, like the fact that she drinks champagne every night before bed (she’s our kind of queen). But this is easily one of our favorite royal revelations yet.
Given her professional poise, it’s kind of difficult to imagine Queen Elizabeth hitting the dance floor, but apparently she can’t resist a little two-step whenever she hears the classic disco anthem.

Allegedly, when the banquet DJ spun the record, the queen began to smile and informed her guests, “I always try to dance when this song comes on, because I am the Queen, and I like to dance.”
Welp, we can’t argue with that! A true queen knows that it’s perfectly fine to let loose and have a little fun from time to time.
While we can’t imagine what it must’ve been like to witness this incredible moment in person, the 91-year-old’s cousin Lady Elizabeth Anson assures everyone that Queen Elizabeth is a “fantastic dancer” who also enjoys music by singer-songwriter Vera Lynn and Gary Barlow, frontman of British pop group Take That.
Dance on, Queen!
