The world continues to mourn the life of Queen Elizabeth II, who passed away peacefully at Balmoral Castle on September 8th, 2022. Always a supporter of the humanities and the arts, Queen Elizabeth’s large circle of celebrity fans, dinner party guests, and lifelong friends have flooded social media with touching tributes to Her Majesty’s legacy.
Former President Barack Obama and Former First Lady Michelle Obama posted two images of times when they met the Queen, mentioning her significance in their lives.
“Michelle and I were lucky enough to come to know Her Majesty, and she meant a great deal to us,” he wrote. “Time and again, we were struck by her warmth, the way she put people at ease, and how she brought her considerable humor and charm to moments of great pomp and circumstance.”
