This pug got new socks and it changed her life (and is also extremely cute)

‘Tis better to give than receive, but we would have absolutely no objections to being this 14-year-old pug named Leia that got new socks and immediately began feeling like a brand new dog. According to Bored Panda, the precious pooch’s owners adopted the senior dog from Under My Wing Pug Rescue two years ago, but she began to experience some discomfort when they replaced the carpet in their home with hardwood flooring.

Leia’s human Niki Geroni-Lajoie told The Dodo that the pug struggled to get a grip on the floor, which caused concern about the dog potentially injuring herself. “I was worried she was going to sprain something, being so old and wobbly already.”

And that’s where the life-saving socks came into play.

Too. Freakin’. Cute.

“She will stand on the living room rug and bark for me or cry, trying to get around if the socks aren’t on,” Geroni-Lajoie said. “She runs around and you can tell she’s really happy and waggy.”

Happy and waggy are the perfect adjectives to describe how we feel knowing that Leia’s precious paws are now comfortable and warm. We never thought it would come to this, but this dog has definitely inspired us to take our sock game to the next level.
