Progressive women are killin’ it on OkCupid, in case you were wondering

It’s been a big week for progressive ladies. Millions participated in women’s marches around the world last Saturday in support of minority and women’s rights. And now, OkCupid announced that liberal women have greater success finding meaningful relationships.

So it turns out being outspoken advocates of equal rights is sexy.

And that is something we can definitely get on board with.

“We had a hunch this was the case; after all, open-minded women have the confidence to know who they are and what they’re looking for — and not settle till they’ve discovered just that, OkCupid shared in a blog post.

OkCupid analyzed women who had “successfully” found love on the site.

They defined that term as individuals who deleted their account as a result of meeting their significant other on the service. In their findings, they saw that 85 percent of these women supported same-sex marriage, and 72 percent said “yes” when asked if they felt it’s important to help others. Tolerant and compassionate, check and check.

The data uncovered other interesting tidbits, too.

Women who believe in free press were 34 percent more likely to find a match. Also, those passionate about education and are irked by typos have a 31 and 36 percent higher shot of success, respectively.

The women they tracked are sexually progressive, as well.

Females who said they are willing to answer questions about sexuality are 33 percent more likely to find success on the site. Additionally, those that believe masturbation is a healthy practice and infidelity have a 39 percent success rate.

“These facts demonstrate that — while looks, success and personal accolades are important — they can’t speak to substance. Caring about the equality of fellow human beings is the most distinguishing quality of women who’ve found their match on OkCupid, and we’re pretty damn proud of that, the post added.
