Prince Harry’s Title Getting Stripped “Discussed at the Highest Level”
A new book claims that Prince Harry’s interviews are fueling a “widening gulf” with the royal family.
Since his self-imposed demotion from the Britain monarchy, Prince Harry has published a revealing memoir, produced a Netflix series documenting he and wife Meghan Markle’s “freedom” journey to America, and delivered an explosive interview with Oprah Winfrey.
As of result, King Charles has evicted Harry from Frogmore Cottage and cut off his family’s access to the Crown’s security and financials. He’s also granted them limited access to royal family events including Charles’s upcoming coronation, in which Harry and Meghan are only partially invited to. (Their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, are not welcome.)
However, it appears Harry hasn’t faced his harshest consequence yet. According to royal expert and novelist Robert Jobson’s new book, Our King Charles III: The Man and the Monarch Revealed, the Duke is at risk of losing his Sussex title.
“The idea of stripping Harry of his Duke of Sussex title has been discussed at the highest level,” Jobson writes in an excerpt obtained by Daily Mail.

The title of the “Duke and Duchess of Sussex” was bestowed upon Harry and Meghan by the late Queen Elizabeth at their wedding in 2018. Allegedly, Charles “is said not to be in favour” of the degradation. Albeit, others who do hold power in the Palace are.
“Ultimately, despite Charles’s enduring love for his son, he will come under increasing pressure if Harry continues to attack the monarchy,” Jobson writes. “At that point, the King would have two options: put up with the spreading stain on his reign, or take action to limit its scope.”
If the Sussexes are stripped of their titles, Meghan will no longer be called a Duchess. She will simply be referred to as Meghan Markle or Mrs. Mountbatten-Windsor. Harry, however, will still keep his birthright title of Prince.
“In short, Harry and Meghan could yet find themselves demoted to Mr and Mrs Mountbatten-Windsor of Montecito, California,” Jobson quips.
It’s unclear how soon this may happen. Their delayed RSVP to Charles’s coronation is only deepening their trenches.
