Prince Harry sang a few lines from “Hamilton,” Lin-Manuel Miranda loses it

We thought we were done for when former president Barack Obama sang Christmas carols back in 2017. But Prince Harry just teased a Hamilton song while on stage post-show, and—like Lin-Manuel Miranda—we’re losing it.

Harry and Meghan Markle attended a special gala performance of Miranda’s ground-breaking musical Hamilton on Wednesday, August 29th in London. The gala was intended to raise donations for Harry’s charity, Sentebale. The Duke founded Sentebale in 2006 with Prince Seeiso of Lesotho in an effort to help children affected with HIV in Lesotho and Botswana live full and happy lives.

When Harry took to the stage to thank the cast and crew of Hamilton for putting on such an amazing show, he couldn’t quite contain his eagerness to join in on the fun. Harry belted out a quick, “You say”—much to the delight of the audience and crew.

"That's actually not going to happen," Harry joked. "He (Miranda) did try, but I said no."

And TBH, we are all Lin-Manuel Miranda right now (check him out, stomping his foot in amusement).

Miranda, the king of musical theater and Twitter, shared the moment with his followers, adding, “King George III’s great-great-great-great-great-great grandson The Duke Of Sussex sang a few bars tonight.”

Harry and Meghan then joined the cast for a group photo.

If this whole “being a prince” thing doesn’t work out for Harry, we totally support his burgeoning musical theater career.
