Prince Harry giddily announcing he’s a dad during a press conference is officially a MOOD

It’s official: The royal family just got a little bit bigger. On May 6th, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry welcomed their first child, a son. The royal parents confirmed the happy news in a statement shared to their official Instagram account (the birth was also confirmed by Buckingham Palace on both Instagram and Twitter), and people around the world celebrated. But Harry’s reaction to becoming a dad is the purest moment of 2019 so far.

The Duke of Sussex made his own announcement about the birth in a press conference, where he was positively beaming.

He added that the new royal baby doesn’t have a name yet, noting that it will be announced on Wednesday, May 8th. Harry then ended his statement by saying how proud he was of Meghan.

"I haven't been at many births," he said with a laugh. "This is definitely my first birth, but it was amazing, absolutely incredible. As I said, I'm so incredibly proud of my wife, and as every father and parent will ever say, you know, your baby is absolutely amazing, but this little thing is absolutely to die for, so I'm just over the moon."

According to CNN, the new royal baby will be seventh in line for the throne, behind Harry himself. Baby Sussex is also the first mixed royal baby (of record), and he will be eligible for dual American and British citizenship. Congratulations to Harry and Meghan!
