Prince Harry will participate in his very first official royal task this month — upon request from his grandma
Being a royal isn’t all fun and games! There’s work to be done and tasks to be completed! For example, Prince Harry will participate in his first official royal task this month. He was asked by his grandmother, Queen Elizabeth, to escort fellow royals, King Felipe and Queen Letizia of Spain, to Westminster Abbey. The King and Queen of Spain arrive mid-July for their 2017 State Visit to the United Kingdom.
According to People, Harry and the Spanish royals will lay a wreath on the Grave of the Unknown Warrior while visiting Westminster Abbey.
King Felipe and Queen Letizia arrive on July 11th, but their visit will not formally begin until the next morning. Royals must be well rested before fulfilling their royal duties!
Prince Charles and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, will meet the King and Queen at their hotel that morning and escort them to Horse Guards Parade to be formally welcomed to the UK in the presence of the Queen and Prince Phillip.
This ceremony is followed by a lunch at Buckingham Palace and then a viewing of Spanish items in the Royal Collection in the Picture Gallery.
According to EuroWeekly, the British and Spanish royal families are actually directly related through marriage. Alfonso XIII of Spain married Princess Victoria Eugenia, granddaughter of Queen Victoria, in 1906. Victoria Eugenia is King Felipe’s great-grandmother.

This is the second State Visit the Spanish royals have made to the UK, and it seems like no time will be wasted while they’re there. The British royal family runs a tight ship so Prince Harry best not be late for his princely task!
He’ll do great. We know it!
