As you probably know, the main actresses from Pretty Little Liars got tattoos back in October. We already know it’s sweet and sentimental that their fingers are forever linked in ink, so to speak. Plus, it’s a great way to mark the end of what’s sure to be an amazing last season of an amazing show. But now, we love the behind-the-scenes story about the matching tattoos that Shay Mitchell, Lucy Hale, Troian Bellisario, Ashley Benson, Janel Parrish, and Sasha Pieterse all had done.

Yup, each actress got a tattoo of the initial of her PLL character, “H” for Hanna and “E” for Emily, etc. However, according to Troian, the plan was not to get the tattoos on their fingers, she told Teen Vogue — each person could choose where they wanted theirs.
However, on the way to the tattoo parlor, Ashley had an idea that changed everything.
“…Ashley [Benson] was like, ‘Actually, I’m going to do mine on my finger, so that when I make the shh face, you can see it,’ Troian told Teen Vogue. She then explained that they were all tired of making the shh face and thought, “‘That is so cheesy...wait, that is so perfect.’
As Janel said in her Insta post above, they immortalized their signature “Shhhhhhh” look for sure.
“Now, whenever fans ask us to do the face, it’s this really sweet moment because I know we all share this mark, Troian said. “It ended up being a goofy idea that became very sentimental.
