President Obama just sang “Purple Rain” to a small child dressed like Prince, and omg our hearts
We’re still riding high off of Halloween excitement, and it actually appears to be growing thanks to this latest adorable video to hit the internet. While trick-or-treating at the White House yesterday, President Obama found himself staring down at a lil’ Prince, and couldn’t help but launch into “Purple Rain.”
Repeat: Obama sang Prince’s “Purple Rain” to a tiny Prince, and OMG that sound you hear is our hearts just bursting with glee.
Posting to Instagram, masterwilliams shared that his young nephew had dressed up like the late, great Prince for Halloween this year (complete with a purple guitar, omg omg omg. He was also joined by this darling little unicorn).
In case you don’t know, the White House always does a big trick-or-treating Halloween event out on the lawn, where kids from the D.C. area get to hang out with the President and First Lady and get lots of candy. And no, we’re totally not jealous of these kids, YOU ARE.
When it came time to go down the candy receiving line, Obama spotted this tiny Prince, and did what any of us would do — he launched into the chorus of “Purple Rain.” And like, a good chorus too. Might the President have a singing career on his hands?
From the pictures shared, it looks like both Obama and the First Lady absolutely had a blast at this event, and totally enjoyed meeting pint-sized Prince (and the Unicorn).
