This ingenious pregnancy photo shoot let a couple pose together, even though one of them is deployed halfway around the world
Photographer Traci Fugitt managed to put a couple together in a pregnancy photo shoot, even though one of them is deployed 7,000 miles away. A month after Nicole Bedwell and Wesley Bedwell found out they were expecting, Wesley was deployed to Japan. Pregnancy is not easy. Let alone when you’re doing it on your own.
Nicole sent an email to Traci Lynn Photography requesting pregnancy pictures. And Traci took it upon herself to make this maternity photo shoot special.
Traci told Cosmopolitan that the mom-to-be was understandably upset about her husband’s deployment.
“Nicole expressed how upsetting it was that he was deployed, so we decide he needed to be in them somehow.
Nicole asked her husband to send a photo of him kneeling with his hand extended like he was touching her belly. The initial idea may have been to photoshop him into the shot. But Traci put the photos side-by-side. Showing the 7,000 miles between the locations was far more powerful.
Nicole and Traci had some other really touching ideas to include Wesley in the photoshoot.
Here are some of the other great shots they got:
But soon after Traci posted the side-by-side photo to her Facebook page, it blew up. The photo received hundreds of reactions, comments, and shares.
In a happy turn of events, Wesley was able to come home for a few days just in time for Nicole to give birth. The couple welcomed their beautiful daughter Pyper to the world on April 13th, 2017.
Pyper is currently in a Dallas NICU to address some breathing problems. But everyone is hoping she will stabilize and be able to spend some days at home with her new family soon. They’re also hoping for a newborn photo shoot with mom and dad in the same room.
