The Women’s March is over, but the fight continues with #PowerToThePolls — and here’s how you can get involved

On Saturday, January 20th, hundreds of thousands of protestors took to the streets for the 2018 Women’s March. And the second time around? Yep, it was definitely just as epic as the first. The 2018 Women’s March was a powerful reminder that women everywhere are still fighting and still resisting. And that we’re not stopping anytime soon. However, just because the Women’s March is over doesn’t mean our work is done. So, what comes next? The organizers of the Women’s March created the Power to the Polls campaign. Their goal is to register 1 million people to vote in 2018. And — with the coming midterm elections — there are many ways you can get involved.

For starters, you can make sure that you’re registered to vote. Just text P2P to RTVOTE (788-683). Even if you think you’re already registered, it only takes a few minutes to be sure. If you haven’t registered, it’s always better to be safe than sorry. And even if you aren’t sure if you’ll participate in the 2018 midterm elections (we hope you do!), it’s better to make sure you’re registered now than find out you can’t vote later.

Another way to support the Power to the Polls campaign? Spread the word!

Share the Power to the Polls campaign with friends, family, and your social media followers. Unfortunately, voter suppression still exists in America today. And the best way to combat that is through awareness. While it’s crazy easy to register to vote — either through texting or registering online — we need to remind people that our voices matter.

You can also donate to the Power to the Polls campaign.

If you’ve already registered to vote, if you’re too young to vote, or if you can’t vote for some other reason, you can still get involved. The organizers of the Women’s March are accepting donations to help make their Power to the Polls campaign possible. No amount is too small.

Whatever you do, just keep spreading the word about Power to the Polls.

If your friends and family are registered to vote, that’s awesome. However, our work doesn’t stop there! More women are running for office in 2018 than ever before, and they need our help to win. Stay educated on the issues. Talk to friends and family about what’s happening. And be ready to Power to the Polls on November 6th, 2018!
