STOP EVERYTHING: You can now learn your patronus, thanks to Pottermore

For Harry Potter fans everywhere, knowing your patronus is up there with knowing what Hogwarts house you belong to. It’s pretty important, to say the least.

Now, thanks to Pottermore, fans can take a quiz to see what their patronus would be!

For those unaware of the patronus’ importance to the Harry Potter series and fanbase: The Patronus Charm, introduced in the third novel (Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban) is used to ward of soul-stealing dementors. Additionally, each person casting a Patronus Charm has a patronus animal unique to them, based on their experiences and emotions. Since the Prisoner of Azkaban, the Patronus Charm and the form it takes on has been crucial to Harry and the gang.

In a statement, Pottermore CEO Susan L. Jurevics said,

“We are so delighted to be bringing J.K. Rowling’s most famous spell magically to life on Pottermore, for everyone to enjoy and discover their authentic Patronus, for free. It’s been fantastic working with J.K. Rowling and our creative and development teams to realise her vision, using the latest technology to create this little piece of magic for our site.

Since its inception in 2009, J.K. Rowling’s official Harry Potter website has given Harry Potter fans the opportunity to continue their experience with the beloved book and film series by releasing new information and opportunities, such as having the chance to be sorted into their Hogwarts house, getting their wand, and most recently, allowing members to be sorted into houses of the American wizard school, IIvermorny.
