Pottermore is launching a book club, but stay out of the Restricted Section!

Hold onto your brooms and witch hats, Potterheads! It was announced today that Pottermore is launching a book club, so raise a glass of Butterbeer in celebration! Howard Polskin from Team Pottermore confirmed today that the first official Wizarding World Book Club will launch in June.

The Club’s launch will commemorate the 20th anniversary of the date Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone was published in the U.K. The Global Digital Director of Pottermore, Henriette Stuart-Reckling, released a statement, explaining:

"The Wizarding World Book Club is Pottermore’s way of responding to Harry Potter fans who have been asking for a book club for almost two decades."

No, Harry! It’s real! Stuart-Reckling continues,

"Members will be able to enjoy the shared experience of reading the books together, and then joining the discussions we’re facilitating on our social channels, all curated by Pottermore, the authentic and authoritative digital heart of the wizarding world."

Finally, all of us Potter enthusiasts will get to fangirl/guy out together, at the same time! And for those of us who have yet to become Potterheads, the Wizarding World Book Club is designed to introduce new readers to the series as well.

So if you haven’t hopped on the Harry Potter bandwagon already, it’s time.

Stuart-Reckling concludes,

"Our goal is to create a global community of Harry Potter readers who are communicating with each other as they are reading the same book, at the same time."

Participants in the Club will read a Harry Potter book every one to two months, and then will have the option to partake in weekly Twitter debates surrounding a certain theme.

Rev up the social media, witches and wizards! We’re ready to rumble!

On top of all this greatness, membership to the Club is free through pottermore.com. So is this the best thing to ever happen to us? Absolutely. The hardest part will be having to wait until June to jump back into the Harry Potter magic.
