Uh, OK: These guys filled a pool with Coke and dumped Mentos and ice into it

What do you do when you’re bored in the summer? Fill an entire pool with Coke and dump things in it, obviously.

Taras Maksimuk and his buds filled a 1,500-gallon pool up with Coca-Cola, because hey, why not. “After weeks of buying thousands of Coke bottles and many more hours of opening and pouring, the magnificent Coca-Cola pool was created,” he wrote in the description of the YouTube video on his TechRax channel.

The video has received almost 20 million views since being posted late last week, probably because it’s totally wild.

But once all that opening-and-dumping was completed, the filmmakers certainly weren’t finished with their sticky summer project. They dumped a bucket of Mentos in there to spice things up.

Then, they dumped 200 pounds — yes, 200 pounds — of ice into the pool. . .

. . . and one of the dedicated filmmakers, Ryan, took it upon himself to jump into the concoction to see how it feels. “I feel like I’m in a pool of Coke, man,” Ryan said, quite astutely.

“Feels really smooth, actually,” Ryan said of the Coca-Cola on his skin. “Though I feel all the fizz from the inside and it’s really weird.”

But they weren’t finished there. Since the theme of their channel is “smashing technology singe 2011,” they decided to fly a super-expensive, brand new DJI Phantom 4 quadcopter into the pool. So, if you’re looking for things to do this summer. . . well, there’s that. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=
