This new ‘PLL’ theory could mean big things for season 6

Pretty Little Liars might be in-between seasons right now, but that doesn’t mean we’re going to stop obsessing over it. Instead, quite the opposite. With the HUGE reveal of Big A after five and a half seasons – SPOILER ALERT A turned out to be none other than CeCe Drake — our brains have been working overtime trying to figure out where the show is headed. The big A mystery is over (we think?) which means it’s time to turn our attention to what’s going to happen next. A few PLL sleuths might have even figured out what’s going to happen during Season 6B.

Two things to remember before we dive into this new theory: CeCe was arrested and taken away at the end of Season 6A, but she’ll still be around for Season 6B; and, PLL loves to reference the spooky, the scary, and all things crime noir. For Mona’s sake, the coffee spot in town is called The Rear Window Brew, named after one of Alfred Hitchcock‘s greatest films. PLL knows what it’s doing with references.

A few days ago, PLL showrunner I. Marlene King revealed that the title for the finale of Season 6 is called “Hush Hush Sweet Liars.” Could mean nothing. Or it could mean EVERYTHING.

One PLL fan thinks it means EVERYTHING, and its major clue for the rest of the season. Instagram user Bethany_Is_A noted that there’s a movie out there called Hush . . . Hush Sweet Charlotte. In said movie, a woman is accused of murdering her lover, and slowly over the years begins to go insane over the accusation. Elsewhere, movie Charlotte’s cousin and her lover plan to steal all of Charlotte’s wealth. Doesn’t necessarily sound like a PLL plot line we’ve seen before, but Charlotte’s last name in the movie is Hollis. Sound familiar? (And if you’re like, “no, that doesn’t sound familiar” Hollis is the college in town.)

Is this where Season 6B is headed? CeCe is already in police custody/in an institution, but that doesn’t mean she can’t be accused of murder on the outside. Or, that those who know her (or at least though they knew her) won’t conspire against her now that she’s locked up.

Is there still more murder and tragedy ahead for PLL? Can’t everyone in Rosewood just get along? We’ll find out when PLL picks back up sometime early next year. The waiting is always the hardest part.

The troubling issue with the ‘PLL’ finale that we really need to talk about
