Pizza ATMs will become a normal thing to see this year, so that’s at least one thing we can look forward to
It’s safe to say that many of us aren’t feeling particularly optimistic about 2017 (and for good reason), but we do have some good news to brighten your day — pizza ATMs will become a normal thing to see this year in the U.S. You may recall that in July, North America’s very first pizza ATM debuted at Xavier University and we all collectively asked “when will we have access to this blessing?”
We’re happy to report that Grub Street has confirmed pizza ATMs will be shipped to locations nationwide, possibly as soon as this month. So, at least we’ll have access to amazing pizza during the dark days ahead. It’s the little things, you know?
The pizza ATM was created by the brilliant folks at Paline, and they’ve been widespread across Europe for the past several years — but Americans have, sadly, been deprived of the phenomenon until now.
The ATM is basically a pizza lover’s dream come true — each machine holds 70 pizzas at a time, and you use a touch screen to select which pizza you want. The pizza moves from the refrigerated compartment to the convection oven and, in just three minutes, your pie is ready and delivered to you through a slot.
So, when we’re dying for a late night pizza fix, we’ll no longer have to frantically search the web for nearby pizza places only to realize they closed 10 minutes ago. Twenty-four hour access to pizza is in our near future, and 2017 is suddenly looking just a little brighter.
