Someone made a pizza with 101 different cheeses, and OMG holy yum
Sometimes you come across a food so incredibly tempting that it temporarily renders you speechless. If you’re not yet familiar with this emotion, a pizza joint in Portland, Oregon recently created a pizza with 101 different cheeses. We haven’t quite come up with a way to describe this wondrous pie that isn’t half-unintelligible mumbling, half-drooling, but we’re pretty sure you get the gist of it what we’re trying to say.
As usual, one’s favorite pizza toppings are a hotly debated topic that can gain you popularity (shout out to the mastermind who topped a pizza with tacos and guac), or make you the most hated person ever among pizza enthusiasts, because peas and mayo on a pizza are just flat-out WRONG.
But as it turns out, an unbelievably cheesy slice of heaven inspired by the 99-cent slice in 2014’s Ninja Turtles film couldn’t be more right. Unfortunately, the pizza was only available for one day, but here’s photographic evidence to prove it’s real:
At first glance, it looks like your typical slice, except it’s not.
As a part of Portland’s annual pizza celebration, Scottie’s Pizza Parlor created the Centouno Formaggio, which consists of a 55-cheese blend, a blend of the parlor’s house-made ricotta and 36 soft cheese, a blend of nine grated dry cheeses and a crust stuffed with part-skim mozzarella.
Scottie Riviera described the super cheesy slice to FOX News, saying, “With the first bite, you don’t know what to expect, so you can almost mistake it for a regular slice,” He added, “Then you chew a little more and you start to get a lot of character here: there’s things going on, it’s almost hard to place.”
Scottie’s Pizza Parlor is calling their pizza a world record, which has yet to be officially confirmed by the folks over at Guinness. However, we can’t really focus on that detail at the moment due to a cheese-induced catatonic state.
