The “Pitch Perfect” cast sang “Cups” with a ’90s twist, and it’s our favorite song

We’re only 29 days away from Pitch Perfect 3‘s debut, and the Aca-Gods have blessed us with a ’90s reimagining of Anna Kendrick’s “Cups” performance from the first film. The Pitch Perfect cast linked up with the current contestants on The Voice to perform an acapella mashup of “Cups” and the George Michael classic “Freedom! ’90.”

Splicing “Cups” with the ’90s hit was a musical collaboration we had no idea we’d love so much. Also, shoutout to The Voice top 12 finalists who round out the Pitch Perfect girls with a symphony of voices. The whole Pitch Perfect crew was on hand for the special video including Anna Kendrick, Anna Camp, Brittany Snow, Hailee Steinfeld, and Rebel Wilson.

“The Bellas x The Voice Top 12 = one aca-awesome music video!” reads a caption on the film’s official Instagram.

In addition to the music video, Elizabeth Banks took over Insta Stories for The Voice last night. “Attention Pitches ? Taking over @nbcthevoice on IG Stories now. Follow along and get ready for an aca-awesome #PitchPerfect3 music video,” the producer wrote on Instagram.

Pitch Perfect 3 hits theaters on December 22 just in time for Christmas, but if you can’t wait that long, here’s the ’90s mashup music video as a pre-Christmas gift. We think it’s aca-awesome.

The third installment of the popular musical franchise will feature the Bellas grappling with their new post-college lives as they team up one last time to perform together for an overseas USO tour. Also, this is the final film in the trilogy and it’s being billed as the Bella’s “farewell tour,” which is an incredibly depressing fact for die-hard fans of the series.
