More people pirated “Deadpool” in 2016 than any other movie
It’s no secret that we are big movie fans. And Deadpool was one of our favorites of the year. And, based on the huge box office returns for the superhero movie starring Ryan Reynolds, a lot of people enjoyed the film. But not everyone enjoyed it legally. In fact, Deadpool was just named the most pirated movie of 2016.
The site TorrentFreak just released their top ten list of the most illegally downloaded movies of the year using statistics reported by the largest, public BitTorrent trackers. And it revealed that not only are people still really loving these big box office movies there are still a lot of people who have no problem getting their hands on the flick illegally.
Unlike past years, TorrentFreak decided not to release actual numbers as part of their findings.
According to Forbes, the movies that made the most money in 2016 weren’t actually on the list of the most torrented, which they found interesting.
Deadpool, which has earned over $740 million worldwide, topped the list of the most illegally downloaded movie. It was followed by Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Captain America: Civil War.
