Pippa Middleton opens up about life in the unwanted spotlight, and we feel for her
Living in the spotlight would be hard on anyone, but living in the spotlight in the shadow of the royal family sounds kinda insane. They’re just SO famous.
And Kate Middleton’s younger sister Pippa has opened up about her struggles in an interview with the Daily Mail, and it all sounds pretty stressful.
"I have had a few years of being in the public eye and I have developed something of a thick skin. But managing it all on my own has been quite hard. I have quite a lot thrown at me, such as being followed by people hiding behind cars and jumping out with cameras. It can be unnerving."
Um yeah, that would be unnerving! And somewhat terrifying. As you may know, Pippa is engaged to financier James Matthews, and she explains that he’s having a tough time with the lack of privacy as well.
"It's been a real eye-opener for James. There have been quite a few hurdles to negotiate."
In the interview, Pippa also discusses the various misconceptions about her character, like that she’s a privileged “party girl without any substance” who doesn’t need to work. Actually, Pippa’s a published author and philanthropist (with a degree in English Literature to boot).
We totally understand where Pippa is coming from, because she didn’t seek out the position she’s in. Nevertheless, we trust that she’ll continue to tackle these obstacles with grace and maturity.
We seriously heart you, girl!
