Pink had the best response to losing her 19th Grammy nomination

While there were almost too many standout performances to count at the 2018 Grammys, we need to take a minute to give a special shout-out to Pink. She performed “Wild Hearts Can’t Be Broken” in a t-shirt and jeans (totally barefoot), and enlisted the aid of a sign language interpreter so that all could understand her lyrics. It was a moment that focused on the beauty and simplicity of music — which is everything the Grammys should be.

And it should come as no surprise that Pink was nominated for her 19th Grammy award this year. Her first was in 2001 for her pop collaboration on the song “Lady Marmalade.” And even though Pink has won in subsequent years, she didn’t take home a trophy this time (she was nominated for Best Pop Solo Performance for her song “What About Us”).

And Pink handled the loss like the pro she is. This is what she posted to Instagram later that evening:

"[...]I lost my 19th Grammy nomination, I consoled another talented loser, whom I love, and I kept my feet on the ground (cause spectators like to dare me to.) Y'all I’m so proud of myself I’m gonna buy myself a drink tonight. Perseverance. Perspective, gratitude."

Um, this is officially the best perspective ever (also, we wonder who that other “talented loser” was, because let’s be real, last night was full of them). We’re also so glad the entire family had what sounds like a total blast — Grammy win or not.

Plus, you know this won’t be Pink’s last nomination. We foresee years of wins to come…
