Pink posts this beautiful photo of her breastfeeding on Instagram, we melt forever
If there is one singer that is all about female empowerment, it’s Pink. That’s why it’s no surprise to see the beautiful image she posted of herself breastfeeding to her Instagram account two days ago. All parents have choices to make when it comes to how much they feel comfortable sharing on social media, and celebrities are no exception. For people who breastfeed, the choices can sometimes feel even more delicate, as things like breastfeeding can be so private — and considered so taboo to discuss.

That’s why it is so inspiring to see a major celebrity like Pink share an intimate (#tbt) photograph of herself (taken by her totally supportive husband!) breastfeeding her daughter, Willow Sage. As Pink shares in her caption:
“In honor of#nationalbreastfeedingweek2016 I proudly post this photo of a very HEALTHY, NATURAL act between mother and child. Taken in Helsinki by a very supportive and proud Papa.”
Whether or not you breastfeed, I think we can all agree that it’s a natural, normal act that happens between parent and child. Mothers are vilified for seemingly any reason when it comes to child rearing, and breastfeeding, sadly, is often one of the reasons new parents are so often critiqued. Whether or not you personally breastfeed, I think it’s so important and empowering to support parents who choose to. After all, it’s the hyper-sexualization of women’s bodies that is unnatural, not the fact that infants have to eat.
