Here’s the video of Pink slaying her national anthem performance — with the flu, no less

You know what’s badass? Performing the national anthem on live television in front of millions of people. You know what’s even more badass? Performing the national anthem in front of millions of people on live television when you have the flu. And Pink did just that when she sang at the 2018 Super Bowl last night, February 4th.

Needless to say, we’re bowing down.

Pink revealed to fans she’d been attempting to “practice the flu away” in an Insta post the day before the big show, writing, “I’ve been waiting to sing this song since 1991 when I saw my idol, Whitney Houston, own this song. And now, my chance has finally come. And it just so happens that this chance comes when I have two small Petri dish kids who literally cough INTO MY MOUTH and rub their snot on my cheek. You can’t write this stuff I swear! […] And here we are. I’ve arrived at another one of my dreams which is slowly becoming a sort of nightmare.”

And because she’s a queen, Pink powered through the performance, flu and all. (And let’s be clear: The flu is no joke, people. Anyone who’s ever had it can tell you this set was nothing short of amazing).

Pink posted a follow-up message to fans thanking them for all their love and support on the big night.

And if you missed the big performance (because hey, being on time to stuff is hard), no worries. Here’s Pink’s national anthem video for your viewing and listening pleasure.
