Pink detailed her family’s “really, really scary” experience with coronavirus
Pink revealed over the weekend that she and her son, Jameson, had coronavirus (COVID-19) for “several weeks” but have since recovered. Yesterday, April 5th, the singer went live over FaceTime with author Jen Pastiloff to give an interview about what her family went through. During the call, Pink further opened up about her “really, really scary” experience—particularly when it came to her 3-year-old son’s symptoms.
“We’ve been really, really sick,” Pink told Pastiloff. “My 3-year-old, Jameson, had the worst of it. There have been many nights where I’ve cried and I’ve never prayed more in my life. At one point I heard myself saying, ‘I thought they promised us our kids would be okay.’ But it’s not guaranteed. There’s no one that is safe from this.”
She said she has kept a journal of both her own and Jameson’s symptoms since they got sick. Still, three weeks after their diagnosis, Jameson still has a 100-degree temperature, and he is just coming off of suffering from diarrhea, constipation, vomiting, and lethargy—”all the things that scare the bejeezus out of you as a mama,” Pink said.
“This is the first thing in our lifetime that doesn’t escape any of us…This is worldwide and there’s nowhere to hide,” she said.
Pink, who said she’s had asthma her whole life, went back on Nebulizers to help her breathe while she had coronavirus. “It got really, really scary, I’m not gonna lie,” she said.

In an April 3rd Instagram post, Pink confirmed that, after initially testing positive, both she and Jameson have recently tested negative for coronavirus. And, luckily, neither her daughter, Willow, nor husband, Cary Hart, showed any symptoms.
“I was able to get a test, and I totally understand why people are pissed off about that,” she told Pastiloff. “I had two tests before the labs could even get them right…[because I was] able to pay money for them.”
She continued, “I think it’s a complete failure of the government that we all just can’t get tested right now. Because then we would understand—we’d know what we were working with and we would be able to make educated decisions. And we can’t. It’s all a mystery.”

To help combat the spread of coronavirus, Pink donated a total of $1 million to hospitals and emergency funds.
She donated $500,000 to the Temple University Hospital Emergency Fund in Philadelphia in honor of her mother, Judy Moore, who worked in the Cardiomyopathy and Heart Transplant Center for almost two decades. She gave an additional $500,000 to the City of Los Angeles Mayor’s Emergency COVID-19 Crisis Fund.
Pink urged everyone to stay home as much as possible in order to limit the spread. The coming weeks will be crucial for the country to “flatten the curve.” Let’s do our part by working together (from afar).
