This special-edition pin collection belongs in every feminist’s fashion repertoire
Today in feminist fashion: Wildfang (a self-proclaimed shop for badass women) and “I AM THAT GIRL” (a female empowerment movement) have partnered with 17 incredible female figures across the board to create a limited-edition set of pins inspired by “their own ‘you got this’ moments.”
Wildfang explains: “Whether you’re an athlete, rockstar, doctor, student, or mom, we all have those moments when self-doubt creeps in and we need that extra little boost of confidence before we go out there and set the world on fire.”
These pins are all about reminding yourself of your inner strength, and we don’t think we can triumphantly yell “yaaaaaaas” while simultaneously ordering ALL the pins fast enough.
Here are some of our favorites from the collection…
Fashion Queen Stacy London
Co-mastermind behind What Not to Wear and all-around fashion queen Stacy London designed the above pin. She said of the design, “Whether it’s your I-look-fierce-as-hell leather jacket or a bold red lip, we all have our go-to piece of badass-babe armor that makes us feel ready to take on the world.” Buy it here for $10.
I AM THAT GIRL’s Jolie
This peace sign pin was designed by Jolie of I AM THAT GIRL. About the piece, she said, “Speaking up isn’t about putting others down. Remember we are all in this crazy thing called life together.” We love this little yet bold reminder to love others while staying true to yourself. Buy it here for $10.
Soccer Player Abby Wambach
Personally, I’ve looked up to soccer superstar Abby Wambach since writing a report on her in the third grade, and her pin is all sorts of badass encouragement. “‘Cause failure is just another word for ‘I’m gonna come back and crush it next time,’” she said. Buy it here for $10.
Actress Monique Coleman
Designed by actress Monique Coleman, whom you may remember best as High School Musical’s Taylor McKessie, this pin is all about twirling on them haters and measuring yourself by your own standards. “Toss out that measuring tape and quit comparing yourself to others—it’s your uniqueness that makes you rad,” she said. Buy it here for $10.
Thanks for the rad reminders, ladies. As our queen Beyoncé has said, “We need to reshape our own perception of how we view ourselves. We have to step up as women and take the lead.” Here’s to wearing our emotions on our sleeves — or, you know, our denim jackets.
