(Real) pigs in (actual) blankets. We so needed this.
Last week, while drinking my afternoon coffee and casually surfing the web (because this is how writers procrastinate), I fell into an Internet hole filled with adorable pigs. The hole was wide and deep, you guys. I still haven’t quite recovered from the staggering level of cuteness. Cute pigs doing cute things in remarkably cute ways.
Because I can’t resist a play on words, my favorites were the pigs-in-a-blanket posts. What are pigs in a blanket, anyway? Sausages wrapped in biscuits or pancakes? This was a hotly debated topic throughout my childhood. But I digress. Wallow with me in the cuteness of real pigs in actual blankets…
I don’t think I’ve ever seen any living creature, porcine or otherwise, clearly so happy to be wrapped in a blankie.
Thud. Someone revive me. I just collapsed from cuteness overload.
This is Charlee Sunshine, a rescue pig, taking a cuddly break from advocating for piggy adoption on Instagram. And of course she wears a bow when she naps. Because glamour.
Lotte the minipig gives me eyelash envy.
To nap or not to nap.: that is the question for Hamlet the Piggy. We love a pig with a Shakespearean name. Extra bonus points for the Hello Kitty stuffed animal.
It’s Priscilla and Poppleton in a pig in a blanket two-for-one!
Hey girl, is it just me or does this pig remind you of Ryan Gosling in a hoodie? No? Okay, then. Maybe I’ve watched The Notebook one too many times.
I scream, you scream, we all scream for pigs in a blanket. That’s how the song goes, right?
I’m telling you, there’s no end to the cuteness.
What? Guinea pigs count as pigs. Sort of.
But seriously. Look at this face.
Those tiny feet though…
This little piggy went to market,
This little piggy stayed home…on the sofa…wrapped in a blanket…
I’m still not clear on the whole biscuits vs. pancakes debate, but it doesn’t really matter does it? Things just got real.
