Because it’s Pi Day, a few thoughts on pizza, pies and makeup math

There must be a mathematical equation to perfectly applying contouring makeup and I don’t know what it is. I obsessively watch YouTube videos of makeup gurus transforming their faces into wonderful angular shapes. I simply love the idea of playing with our personalities and moods through the art and science of beauty. So, I run to the makeup aisle, I buy the necessary contouring makeup items (concealers, highlighters, etc) and end up with very different results. I guess I just don’t know how to blend, or maybe there’s a mysterious math to this process of properly contouring your face. Stay with me here: If our faces are pies, contouring should turn them into perfect, angular slices. When I try it, I still look like a full round pizza pie, but with all the toppings. No high cheekbones or sharp contours, just smudges of colors all over my face.
