Photos of Princess Charlotte’s Christening are here, and we can’t stop staring at them
On July 4th, Princess Charlotte in all her beautiful, royal baby glory was christened at the Church of St. Mary Magdalene, and we’ve been ooh-ing and ahh-ing at the photos since. It was a big day for Baby Charlotte, and her entire family was there to celebrate the event, including mom and dad Kate Middleton and Prince William, her big brother George, and Grandma Queen Elizabeth II.
Since it’s Thursday (and Friday seems so very far away) and you might want something to look at for awhile, here are some of the photos from the christening that the Duke and Duchess have shared with the world. Taken by esteemed photographer Mario Testino (whose work has been featured in Vanity Fair and Vogue, and has been taking formal photos of the British royal family since forever), we’re given a tiny glimpse into this gorgeous family’s life.
Naturally, everyone’s outfits were swoon-worthy and perfect, so let’s take a second to appreciate them. Here’s our little lady of the hour, Princess Charlotte and her mom:
Charlotte looks like a baby fairy in this traditional lacy dress. According to US Weekly, the outfit is actually a replica of a dress the royal family has used for christenings for the last few hundred years. Generations and generations of royal cherubic babes have worn a dress identical to this one. You can never go wrong with something classic, Charlotte!
Here’s mom and dad with Baby C, who looks pretty sleepy. And also George, who seems unsure of this whole picture-taking thing.
Here’s more of the royal family via Mr. Testino! Hat game on certainly point.
But also let’s not forget about Prince George, who is wearing a very precious collared shirt and (you can’t see because this photo is in black and white) daring red trouser-shorts. Plus, the chemistry between dad and son is making our hearts burst in all the best ways.
