Alan Thicke’s wife shared one of the last photos ever taken of them together, our hearts hurt

Yesterday, news broke that Growing Pains star Alan Thicke had died suddenly at the age of 69. Thicke was playing hockey with his youngest son Carter, when he suffered from an apparent heart attack. TMZ first reported the news, which was confirmed by publicists representing Thicke’s son, “Blurred Lines” singer Robin Thicke.

Just two days before his death, Thicke’s wife Tanya posted an adorable photo of herself looking lovingly at Thicke, where she professed her love for the actor. She captioned the pic, “I’ve got the cutest designated driver EVER!!!!” The adorable photo is incredibly heartbreaking in the wake of Thicke’s death.

Tanya and Thicke met in 1999 and were married in 2005.

Thicke opened up about his third marriage to People in 2014, where Thicke gushed about Tanya. He told the mag, “My wife who is a wonderful yin and yang personality – hot and cold – I call her the sexy, lovable tornado, is completely fascination and out of control and very sexy.”

The news of Thicke’s passing shocked the entertainment industry. The Canadian actor and musician took on the role of America’s dad, playing Jason Seaver on beloved ’80s sitcom Growing Pains and was a Hollywood mainstay, even spoofing his Canadian icon status on How I Met Your Mother. Thicke most recently appeared on episodes of Netflix hit Fuller House and NBC’s breakout freshman series This Is Us. Since the news broke, celebrities from all factions of the entertainment industry, including Thicke’s former co-stars, have expressed their sadness and condolences through social media.

We’re truly heartbroken for Tanya, and Thicke’s sons Robin, Brennan, and Carter, and the rest of his friends and family.
