Pharrell Williams has supported Ellen DeGeneres’ decision to ban Kim Burrell from her show
After a week of controversies, Pharrell Williams has come out and defended Ellen DeGeneres‘ decision to not allow Kim Burrell on her show.
It was reported earlier this week the gospel singer and preacher Kim Burrell would not appearing on The Ellen Show after it emerged that she had allegedly made homophobic comments during a sermon that she was delivering.
Burrell was set to appear on the show alongside Williams and Janelle Monáe to perform their song “I See Victory,” which is taken from the soundtrack the upcoming movie Hidden Figures, which also stars Monáe and was produced by Williams.
Now Pharrell Williams has joined Ellen Degeneres and supported her decision to disallow Burrell from appearing on her show.

Sitting down to talk with Degeneres, Williams said that there was “no room for any kind of prejudice in 2017 and moving on. There’s no room.”
While Williams refused to bash Burrell, he said that people need to get along with each other’s differences.
"We all have to get used to everyone’s differences and understand that this is a big, gigantic, beautiful, colorful world and it only works with inclusion and empathy. It only works that way," he said. "Live and let live. Love and let love."
Agreeing with him, Ellen said that she didn’t want anyone to feel hurt for being different.
"Whenever you hear some sort of hate speech and you feel like it doesn't pertain to you because you may not have anything to do with that, all you got to do is put the word black in that sentence, or put gay in that sentence, or put transgender in that sentence, or put white in that sentence, and all of the sudden it starts to make sense to you," Pharrell continued. "I'm telling you, the world is a beautiful place, but it does not work without empathy and inclusion."

We have to say, we’re so proud of Pharrell for speaking out for what he believes in. We know it must be hard to see someone that you respect and admire go against your beliefs, and it’s amazing to see how he is able to rise above without bashing anyone and by remaining positive.
“Even when I disagree with someone I’m wishing them the best and hoping for the best because we can’t win the other way,” he said.
We couldn’t agree more.
