Pete Davidson’s 9/11 tribute to his Dad is so extremely touching

While Pete Davidson might bring the laughs on Saturday Night Live, his past includes a bit of tragedy.  Davidson’s father, Scott Davidson, was a New York City firefighter who passed away while trying to save others during the September 11th attacks. Davidson was only 7-years-old when he lost his father, who was attempting to rescue civilians from a World Trade Center hotel while the second plane hit.

Without a doubt, Davidson’s father was a hero — and every year, Davidson makes a point to honor him properly.

Davidson was gifted a pair of his Dad’s work boots from a colleague, and displays them with a sweet photo of his Dad.

“Apparently my dad wore sketchers,” Davidson typed as part of his caption, joking that they were “embarrassing.”

Davidson also shared a photo of him enjoying a beer with his Dad. Sure, he’s a little young, but — I’m sure the experience meant everything to him, especially since his Dad wasn’t present when Davidson officially turned 21 (which was just last year.)

Finally, Davidson posted a photo of him wearing his Dad’s jersey — he’s currently on tour with the Oddball Festival, and snpped this photo before his stand-up set in Camden, New Jersey last night. Knowing that Davidson had his father in mind throughout the whole night is just incredibly touching.

No matter what, we know that Scott Davidson would be immensely proud of his son.
