Pete Davidson Reportedly in Mercedes That Crashed into Hollywood Home

Pete Davidson was in a car crash Saturday night in Los Angeles, upon returning from a beach getaway with rumored girlfriend and actress Chase Sui Wonders.

According to TMZ, who broke the story and spoke with law enforcement on the scene, the Mercedes, in which the comedian was in, jumped a curb and smashed into a fire hydrant at high speed, sending the vehicle skidding across a resident’s lawn.

There is property damage, but there are no reports of injury either in or outside of the home. The incident occurred around 11 p.m.

It’s not confirmed whether Davidson was a passenger or behind the wheel. Beverly Hills Lt. Christopher Coulter didn’t respond to People’s request to comment regarding Sui Wonders’s whereabouts the night of the crash.

Law enforcement is not divulging the cause of the accident, other than the driver lost control of the car. It’s unclear whether there were substances involved. TMZ claimed that “the preliminary view is that drugs and alcohol were not involved here, but an investigation is currently underway.”

As the outlet noted, Davidson and Sui Wonders likely just flew back from Hawaii, where they were photographed the same day as the crash, and may have had jet lag.

According to the CDC, drowsy driving was a factor in 91,000 crashes in 2017. Could jet lag have played a factor in the crash? It remains to be seen.

The Saturday Night Live alum was first romantically linked to Sui Wonders back in January, when the two were spotted getting cozy in Hawaii. However, People reports the alleged couple have actually been seeing each other since December. Neither Davidson nor Sui Wonders have commented on the status of their rumored romance.

The two met while filming the 2022 horror Bodies, Bodies, Bodies. Davidson also tapped Sui Wonders to star in his forthcoming TV series, Bupkis.
