Perrie Edwards confirms Zayn Malik broke off their engagement by text, and we are SHOCKED
Perrie Edwards is finally opening up about her breakup with Zayn Malik and the truth hurts. The 23-year-old singer revealed exactly how the former One Direction singer called off their engagement in the new Little Mix book and it’s not cool.
Little Mix’s book, Our World, hits shelves on October 20, but based on a fan’s picture of an early copy of the girl group’s book, it looks like Edwards and Malik’s break up was way harsh.
Edwards and Malik were engaged for two years after the “Pillow Talk” singer popped the question in August 2013, but their romance and the engagement came to an end in 2015 and it was really hard for the girl bander. In fact, according to the book it was hard for Edwards to pick up the pieces after the romance fizzled out.
"I'm single at the moment and in a really good place. I feel like I'm stronger and happier than I've been in a long time. I've bought a house and it's like I've found my independence after going through a really tough time," the portion of the book reads.

"It was horrible, the worst time in my life. a four-year relationship, two-year engagement ended by a simple text message. Just like that," Edwards said. "Even though things in my career were going really well, it was incredibly difficult for me."
A text message? Say it ain’t so Zayn! Although Malik has denied that he would break up with Edwards that way, the book doesn’t lie.
"I love her a lot, and I always will, and I would never end our relationship over four years like that," Malik previously told Fader about the rumored text-message breakup. "She knows that, I know that, and the public should know that as well. I don’t want to explain why or what I did, I just want the public to know I didn’t do that."
Despite calling Malik out for his alleged breakup tactic, Edwards also writes about the fact that she’s happy now that she’s single and that she has recovered from the stressful time. “But right now I’m enjoying being single and I know I don’t need anyone,” the British singer said.
"I'm at the point where I want someone who'll make me laugh, someone like me who's spontaneous and fun, who wants to live life to the fullest. I want to be carefree and enjoy myself," she added. You go girl!
