A perfectly orange floral arrangement for your rad Halloween party

I firmly believe that you are never too old to celebrate Halloween, whether that means going all-out with a costume, throwing a festive bash or curling up on the couch with some fun-sized treats and a scary movie. (Full disclosure, that last one is probably what I’ll go with this year.) Whatever your Halloween plans, it’s fun to celebrate the spooky season. So may I introduce this week’s DIY: a floral arrangement in October colors, finished off with a black bow and some eerily orange water. It’s a fast and fresh way to add some Halloween spirit to your space!

Materials:

  • Three kinds of orange or yellow flowers
  • Large vase
  • Black ribbon
  • Scissors
  • Red and yellow food coloring
  • Separate container to mix the food coloring

Craft away:

Fill the container with water. Add some red and yellow food coloring, and mix until you get a nice, bright orange. Continue mixing until you have enough orange water to fill the vase.

Begin arranging the flowers. There’s no right or wrong way to do this—just place them in the vase in a way that looks appealing to you.

Cut a length of ribbon, and tie it around the vase in a pretty bow.

Display your pretty blooms during a Halloween party, or use them as a centerpiece for a seasonal meal!
